| I have been painting under the tutelage
of Nell Frysteen for 7 years now.
I work in watercolour and pastel. I love watercolour because it is challenging and rewarding, watching the colour flow across the paper; laying transparent colours over each other to create beautiful luminescent depth that can’t be mixed on the palette. My subject matter ranges from still life to landscapes which I paint in great detail. Pastel painting has given me a wider choice of subjects to paint; it’s the opposite of watercolour but is more forgiving. I am experimenting with new ways to use the pastels and the variety of papers offer new ideas. Awards |
