I work with pastels as I find the soft, subtle shades more expressive, easy to work with and convenient, allowing me to create images in my spare time. My scribbly technique allows me to overlap layers of colour to create depth, as I often enjoy exploring parts or sections of a subject in detail.

I am especially drawn to our majestic Australian Landscapes, which has led to Australian Natives as my most recent subject. Stunning, unique and diverse, Australian Natives survive in the harshest conditions, continually exposed to the unforgiving extremes of nature. Yet by adapting to and blending with their environment, they are able to thrive. It is my aim to capture their beauty and highlight their diversity.

Although I work full-time, I have been attending weekly classes with the Nell Street Painters for the past 18 months. With Nell Frysteen as my tutor, and the encouragement and support of the group, my style continues to develop. I also have a passionate interest in photography and travel - the more challenging, remote and diverse - the better!
