As a woman with a family and working in a full time
position, I was looking for an outlet. I decided to try my hand at
china painting at night tutored by Trish Redman in Ivanhoe. Then to
try something completely differnt - pastel painting with my close
friend, artist Hannelore Pratt. We both enrolled in Thelma Cardwells
classes for a time until her classes were cancelled. Not knowing
anything about Nell Frysteen, except that her classes were conducted
at night, I enrolled with her and it has since proven to be one
of the best decisions I have made.
My work focuses predominately on flowers, big cats and still life.
One of the spare rooms in my home has been transformed into my little
sanctuary known as “The Bunker” (Aka “The Room”)
After much persuasion and reservation, I finally entered some of
my work in a few shows in the Northern suburbs, where I have had
some success. It was then I realized I wanted to pursue my hobby
further. Since then I have entered pieces into:
